Kentucky environmental attorney Sanders says flags at state office buildings are at half staff for death of Sgt. Erick Klusacek.

Gov. Steve Beshear has directed that flags at all state office buildings be lowered to half-staff on Friday, June 18, 2010 in honor of a Fort Campbell soldier who died while supporting Operation Enduring Freedom.

According to the Department of Defense, Sgt. Erick J. Klusacek, 22, of Calcium, N.Y., died June 8, 2010 at Gerda Serai, Afghanistan of injuries sustained from a non-combat related incident. He was assigned to 1st Squadron, 33rd Cavalry Regiment, 3rd Brigade Combat Team, 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault), Fort Campbell, Ky. 

Funeral services for Sgt. Klusacek will be held June 18 at 11 a.m. Eastern time at New Hope Baptist Church in Watertown, N.Y.  Burial services will immediately follow at Brownville Cemetery.  Gov. Beshear has directed that flags at all state office buildings be lowered to half-staff from sunrise to sunset that day.
