Northern Kentucky University’s Drew Harris has been named the Great Lakes Valley Conference Runner of the Week in cross country. Harris, a junior who also earned the GLVC honor last week, posted a third-place finish in the overall competition of the Queen City Invitational on Saturday with a time of 15:34 at the Mt. Airy Forest. The Campbell County High School graduate helped NKU finish fifth in the overall team standings with a score of 131.
Xavier won the team competition with a score of 37, followed by Cincinnati (56), Cedarville (85), Bellarmine (93) and NKU to round out the top five squads.
NKU hits the road for Kenosha, Wis., next week to compete in the Midwest Open. That eight-kilometer men’s competition will feature many of the top teams in the Midwest Region.
