Lawyer Sanders says Sierra Club recognizes the good works of Alan J. Steinberg, Administrator of U.S. EPA Region 2.

The New Jersey Chapter of the Sierra Club honored Alan J. Steinberg, U.S. EPA Regional Administrator, for his efforts to protect the people and environment of New Jersey. Steinberg has served as the Region 2 administrator since 2005.  Region 2 serves New York, New Jersey, Puerto Rico, the U.S. Virgin Islands and seven federally recognized Indian Nations. Mr. Steinberg oversees federal programs that govern all aspects of the environment with the palan-j-steinbergurpose of protecting the health and livelihood of the region’s approximately 31 million residents.

Mr. Steinberg was recognized by the Sierra Club for his outstanding leadership in advancing the cleanup of the Passaic River, and his crucial role in the positive modifications made to the state Permit Extension Act of 2008.

The Sierra Club is a national, member-supported environmental organization, which seeks to influence public policy through public education and grass-roots political action. With nearly 20,000 members, the Trenton-based New Jersey Chapter is one of the largest chapters in the USA.
