Lawyer Sanders says U.S. Coast Guard has published voluntary guidelines for controlling aquatic nuisance species in freshwater habitats.

Of interest to all Kentuckians, who use our magnificent lakes, rivers and other freshwater waterways, the U.S. Coast Guard has Voluntary Guidelines on Recreational Activities to Control the Spread of Zebra Mussels and Other Aquatic Nuisance Species that is located at 65 FR 82447-82451. The Coast Guard’s guidelines provide specific steps that can be taken to prevent or minimize the transport of Aquatic Nuisance Species through recreational activities.
