Darkling beetles have long been a serious problem for the poultry industry – spreading disease, destroying insulation, and consuming poultry feed, which ultimately means eating away profits. Bayer Animal Health now offers a new addition to their product lineup for darkling beetle control – Credo™ SC Insecticide. This new weapon contains the active ingredient imidacloprid, effective against adult and larval darkling beetles. For more information, please visit http://www.Bayer-ah.com. Darkling beetles pose serious problems for the poultry industry – spreading disease, destroying insulation, and consuming poultry feed.
Credo SC utilizes a class of chemistry new to darkling beetle control, developed by Bayer Animal Health and specifically formulated for use in poultry houses. There is increasing concern that these darkling beetles are becoming resistant to insecticides. According to the company, however, the beetles will be exposed to a completely new kind of insecticide when using Credo SC with its active ingredient. The company states that 1 bottle of Credo SC will treat a 20,000 sq ft poultry house using band application, and a single rate is effective at killing both adult and larval darkling beetles. Specifically, it can be used in broiler houses, caged layer houses, breeder houses, and turkey houses as either a band or broadcast treatment.
