USDA to release 2008 Acreage Report assessing impact of Midwest floods on June 30.

The U.S. Department of Agriculture’s National Agricultural Statistics Service (NASS) is assessing the impact on the 2008 crop acreage from the impact of the extraordinary rainfall and flooding in the Midwest. NASS will release the 2008 Acreage report as scheduled on June 30 at 8:30 a.m. EDT. However, NASS collected most of the acreage data during the first two weeks of June, before the majority of the flooding occurred.
