The City of Covington, Kentucky’s Great American Clean-Up will be April 26, 2008. Covington staff will provide gloves, bags, and other supplies. “Every year it grows,” said city Ombudsman/Neighborhood Services Coordinator Suzann Gettys. Participants will get T-shirts, free gloves, bags, water and lunch at Goebel Park. Getty said that “Last year, more than 500 volunteers worked at 24 sites picked up more than 60 tons of trash.” For more information, contact your neighborhood association representatives; Gettys at 859-292-2141; or Jane Anderson at the Center for Great Neighborhoods at 491-2220, ext. 25.
